Interview: Kyle Zoellner's new day in appeals court

Oral arguments to begin June 10

Kyle Zoellner's civil suit against Arcata police will be revisited on June 10 with oral arguments before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. In October 2022, a federal jury agreed that former Detective Eric Losey conducted malicious prosecution and was ready to award Zoellner some $776,000 in damages – until Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley essentially nullified the verdict by ruling that Losey, indeed, had probable cause to believe Zoellner stabbed Lawson.
